Shaun Miller opened H Smith Shop in September, 2017. This space is meant to host art, promote a lifestyle of wellness, and provide stylish haircuts to all.
Shaun named H. Smith Shop for his grandfather, Harry Smith, who settled in Point Breeze in the 1940s.
This piece was designed specifically for H. Smith Shop. The mirrors are hung from the ceiling by steel cable. The hanging system was developed by Moseley + Killian Design House to be hidden within the frame, it also centers the weight of the mirrors on their bottom edge so that the frames are held together by their own weight. A Large table of thin, black walnut anchors both the mirrors and the space around them.
This is the mission of H. Smith Shop. The space is at once barbershop, community art gallery, and wellness store, featuring products developed by Shaun Miller. This space is dedicated to the display of art and can function as a public venue.
Three of these benches were built for the shop and are available upon request.
